Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I'm sure many of you are already beginning to plan the amazing menu your will feed you family and friends. It's hard enough digging through grandma's recipe book and/or the internet looking for the perfect dish. I wanted to take a little stress off of you this year while also reminding you of the importance of a cocktail with my top 5 Thanksgiving cocktail recipes.
While it's easy to pop open a few bottles of wine to serve with your meal, I find guests feel very welcomed and special when you dazzle them with a pre-meal signature cocktail. Just as no meal is complete without dessert, I feel no meal should begin without a cocktail.
That being said, here are my top five cocktails to tantalize you guests tastebuds before you carve the turkey!

Spicy Apple Cider
2 parts bourbon 3 parts apple cider 1 part oj 3-4 dashes of orange bitters a dash of cayenne a dash of cinnamon

Holiday Mule
1/2 oz unsweetened cranberry juice
2 part cranberry vodka
2 part chilled ginger beer
squeeze of lemon
sugared cranberries, for garnish

Pumpkin Martini
1 tbsp pumpkin puree
1 tbsp coconut milk
1/2 oz Cointreau
2 oz coconut tequila
dash of cinnamon
dash of cayenne
cinnamon stick garnish

Cranberry Gimlet
2 ounces gin
1 ounce unsweetened cranberry juice
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce agave
whole cranberries, for garnish

Pear Sangria
1 bottle dry white wine
¾ c. pear juice
⅓ c. brandy
¼ c. agave
1 pear, thinly sliced
1 orange, small wedges
pomegranate seeds to garnish
